thanks guy's.
the insulation in the filter shed is 25mm poly, ive since added a load ofcarpet underlay and more poly to keep as much heat in as possible, the good thing is the pump gives off quite a bit of heat so its allways warm in there.
not sure what material the hood is made from, as it's got a high gloss finish.

also my stocking is :-
5x L25's 2.5"-5"
2x L24's 6-7"
3x L14's 12"
and Thunder (platynematichthys notatus)
ive created loads of hideaway's for all the plec's but the L14 are kicking the living crap out of eachother as they are all male's, so i might have to think about selling one or 2 of them on.
